My Approach to Coaching

Coaching is a relationship — one built on trust, honesty, and the knowing that every person already has what they need to move forward. My role is to help them see it clearly and step into action.

I work with high schoolers, college students, and recent graduates — whether they're managing the demands of academics, activities, and decision-making, navigating a transition, feeling uncertain about their next step, or ready to level up into something bigger.

My approach is rooted in deep listening and powerful questions. Together, we explore what drives my clients, how they see themselves and the world around them, and who they want to become — then we co-create clear, meaningful actions that fit their life and build real momentum. Each conversation deepens the one before it.

This is a relationship my clients know they can return to as their lives continue to evolve.

For Students and Young Adults Growing with Intention

I support students and young adults exploring what’s next in their academic and life journey

  • High schoolers thinking through life after graduation

  • Gap year students looking for space and structure to grow

  • College students finding their way on campus and beyond

  • Young adults beginning to build a life after school

Coaching provides a grounded space for self-discovery in the midst of academic demands and life choices.

  • Building self-awareness and understanding personal strengths

  • Clarifying values, interests, and possible directions

  • Strengthening motivation, organization, and follow-through

  • Developing confidence and a sense of personal leadership

  • Navigating change with clarity instead of overwhelm

  • Creating systems that support steady, sustainable progress

My coaching is personalized and forward-looking, rooted in the belief that growth isn’t a straight line — it’s a process you can learn to trust

Coaching Services

  • For high schoolers balancing academics, activities, and the pressure of what comes next. We work together on self-awareness, organization, and building the confidence to make decisions that feel right — not just decisions that look right.

  • For college students who want a steady space to grow — whether they're finding their footing, working through a challenge, or ready to get more out of their college experience. Together, we clarify what matters most and turn insight into action.

  • For students taking a gap year who want more than time off — they want intentional growth. With a doctorate centered on gap year research and years of experience in the field, I help gap year students make meaning of their experience and stay connected to their direction.

  • For recent graduates navigating the shift from school to professional life. We work on clarifying strengths, values, and direction — and building the self-awareness to make career decisions rooted in who they are, not just what's available.

Client Experiences

  • On Stepping Into the Next Chapter With Purpose

“Corinne’s intuitive nature, gentle demeanor, and thoughtful questions helped me find new meaning in working toward my educational and career goals. During our sessions, she created a space where I could slow down, reflect, and understand what truly mattered to me. She guided me through moments of uncertainty and helped me see strengths and possibilities I had overlooked. Corinne helped me sort through the doubts and pressures I carried after college and made the process of clarifying my path feel manageable and even hopeful. Through our work together, I learned how to trust my own decisions and recognize the abilities I had dismissed for years. Her guidance supported me through each step of choosing my next academic direction, and I began to move forward with a sense of confidence I had not felt before. I am genuinely grateful for the clarity and grounding her coaching gave me.”

  • On Applying to Graduate School with Confidence

“Dr. Guidi is dedicated to helping you succeed. She takes the time to learn who you are, identify your strengths, and help you understand your purpose in a way that feels grounded and authentic. After I graduated from college, I worked with her while navigating applications to master’s programs, and I came into the process unsure of how to position myself or even how to talk about my experiences. Through coaching, she helped me assess where I was, clarify what I wanted, and build confidence in the direction I chose. Her guidance has been a critical part of my career path. She helped me find my voice, strengthen my goals, and trust my abilities. I would not be where I am today without her support.”

  • On Finding Direction After College

“When I started working with Corinne, I had just graduated from college and felt totally unsure about what I was supposed to do next. I didn’t feel confident in my skills or my resume, and I honestly didn’t think I had much experience to offer. Our sessions helped me slow down and actually make sense of everything. Corinne asked questions that helped me figure out what I wanted and why, and she helped me see how my goals connected to who I am. She even dedicated a session to helping me rebuild my resume — we explored all of the little part-time jobs I had held, and by the end I realized I had way more strengths and real experience than I ever thought. Coaching helped me see myself differently and gave me the confidence to start applying for jobs. Having a space to talk through all the feelings and moving parts of this transition made such a difference. Working with Corinne gave me clarity at a time when I really needed it.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Academic Life Coaching is grounded in a simple idea: every student brings strengths, creativity, and resilience, and those qualities grow through self-awareness and guided reflection.

Rather than focusing on correction or remediation, Academic Life Coaching invites students to explore what motivates them, what challenges feel sticky, and what habits support their goals. My process blends a trusted framework from the International Coach Federation with a deep respect for each student’s individuality, offering a supportive space where growth feels natural and sustainable.

  • Life coaching supports students through curiosity, empowerment, and genuine agency. Each session focuses on meaningful action steps created collaboratively, giving students a sense of ownership and a clear path forward. Regular check-ins strengthen accountability and provide steady support between sessions.

Coaching helps students move beyond patterns that keep them feeling stuck and opens space for clarity, confidence, and those meaningful “aha” moments. It can be especially helpful for older teens and young adults who feel uncertain, unmotivated, or unsure about their direction in school or early career. Through increased self-awareness and guided reflection, coaching helps them move from hesitation into purposeful action.

  • Coaching focuses on the present and helps students take intentional steps toward the future they want to create. The work is rooted in curiosity, clarity, and action, and it supports students in strengthening habits, motivation, and self-awareness.

Therapy, by contrast, often explores past experiences to understand emotional patterns or challenges that affect daily life. Therapeutic counseling may address concerns related to trauma, mental health, medical issues, or significant loss.

A skilled coach understands these boundaries and communicates clearly when a student’s needs align more closely with therapeutic support. Coaching and therapy can complement one another, but they serve different purposes in a student’s growth.

  • Sessions are typically 60 minutes, though 45-minute sessions are also available. We meet via Zoom, with phone sessions available once a relationship is established. Session frequency is tailored to the individual — weekly, biweekly, every three weeks, or monthly. Many clients start with more frequent sessions and space them out over time as they build momentum and integrate what they're learning. For meaningful work together, I recommend a minimum of six sessions.

  • It depends on the individual. For meaningful work together, I typically recommend a minimum of six sessions over one to three months. Beyond that, coaching lasts as long as the client finds it valuable. Many return over time as new chapters unfold. There is no minimum or maximum commitment.

  • The coaching space always belongs to the student or young adult — sessions are between me and the client. For younger students, parents are partners in the journey, and I coach them on how to best support their student along the way. For college students or college graduates who come to me directly, the relationship is purely between us. When parents are sponsoring the investment for an adult-age student, I welcome their involvement and am happy to provide updates with the student's consent.

  • That's completely normal. The free discovery call is a low-pressure way to explore whether coaching feels right. I never push — readiness matters, and sometimes the timing just isn't there yet.

Every journey starts with a conversation.

I’d love to hear about yours.
