School Placement FAQs for Families

do you help with public school searches?
1
Yes, I offer preschool through 12th grade school searches across public, private, independent, charter, boarding, and international schools. Each search is shaped by your family's needs, values, and circumstances. If a request falls outside the scope of my practice, I will connect you with a trusted professional who can help.
how does the proces work?
2
The process begins with an intake conversation to discuss your family's situation, goals, timeline, and most importantly, your child. From there, the scope of our work together depends on what you need — from a focused school list to full support through the admissions cycle. Throughout the process, I am on hand for guidance, support, and advocacy at every step.
how long does a school search take?
3
It varies widely depending on your family's needs and timeline. A focused search or relocation case may take one to three months. If you're navigating a full admissions cycle, we typically work together for six to nine months. Some searches are brief and targeted, others are longer and more involved — the timeline is always shaped by what your family needs.
Do you accompany families on school visits?
4
I am happy to accompany you on school visits depending on scheduling and location. Accompaniment requires advance notice and involves an additional fee based on the itinerary, number of schools, and travel required. Please reach out to discuss the details.
Do you advise families who are moving internationally or returning from abroad?
5
Yes. I can support you through international moves as well as returning to the United States after living abroad. My international work focuses on private school placement, with active experience in England and Canada. For other destinations, I welcome the inquiry — if the focus is private school placement, there is a good chance I can help. Please reach out to discuss your specific situation.
do you help with searches outside of the regular admissions cycle?
6
Absolutely — mid-year moves and transitions happen. Whether it's summer or mid-year, or a decision to change schools outside the typical admissions cycle, I work with you to navigate the complexities — school availability, contingency planning, and finding what works now while helping you map out what's best in the long run.
Do you receive commissions or compensation from schools or third parties?
7
No. I never solicit or accept compensation from academic institutions, third-party affiliates, or program providers. My recommendations are always independent and solely in the best interest of each family I serve.
Do you guarantee school placement?
No — and any consultant who does should be approached with caution. What I do is ensure that your family is as well-informed as possible going into every decision. When the focus is on genuine fit rather than simply filling a spot, that's where the best outcomes occur. My role is to make sure the right questions are being asked and the right schools are being considered — the rest follows from there.
